I dette landsdækkende kohortestudie fandtes en højere risiko for psykiske og fysiske diagnoser samt uhensigtsmæssige sociale hændelser blandt personer som var blevet efterladt efter partners selvmord. Resultaterne viste at den overlevende partner var påvirket på en bred skala af psykiske, fysiske og sociale parametre, hvilket taler for en mere aktiv støtte til efterladte efter selvmord. Studiet er publiceret i JAMA Psychiatry.
